ICAVE is a company committed to operating in an environmentally sustainable way.

We are ruled under the Environmental Management System ISO 14001 2004, which provides practical tools to identify and control the environmental impact of our operations and continuously improve our environmental performance. Our green programs are incorporated into all aspects of day-to-day operations, from implementing friendly technologies, such as more efficient and lower consumption lighting systems, the latest generation waste plants among others. Regarding the treatment plants, and despite not being a processing company, our operations are supported by 7 modern systems, including 5 for biosolids waste and 2 more for oil separation.

Since 2009 we are certified by PROFEPA with the environmental quality label. Our staff stands out for their active participation oriented to the care and ecological environment awareness campaigns.

Environmental Performance

Remarks:

1. Scope 1 Emissions (tonne CO₂e) is the GHG emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by the port.
2. Scope 2 Emissions (tonne CO₂e) is the GHG emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, steam, heat and cooling.
3. Carbon Intensity (kg CO₂e/TEU), is the total of Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG Emissions divided by the port’s annual throughput.
4. The emissions factors applied for the calculation of Scope 1 are adopted from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (UK).
5. The emissions factor applied for the calculation of Scope 2 GHG Emissions area adopted from the International Energy Agency.
